The Workforce Preparation Program allows Youth Programs (YP) to increase installation employment opportunities for Army youth while providing workforce preparation programming.
This program is marketed for eligible youth (16-18 years of age by application date or at time of appointment 07/11/2024) that will work a 12-week work/training cycle. It is designed to increase job opportunities for youth 16-18 years of age IAW the Department of Defense Instruction (Dodi) 6060.4,
Army Regulations (AR) 215-1 and HQ IMCOM G9 CYS Operations Manual. Adults are not prohibited from apply for this NAF position.
Not to exceed 10/02/2024.
These positions are:
1) Temporary not to exceed 12 weeks from the effective date of employment; working period
07/11/2024 - 10/02/2024 (Not to exceed 10/02/2024)
2) Not to exceed 10 hours per week
3) Located at CYS Youth Center, USAG Japan, Camp Zama and
4) Is funded by the Installation Management Command, G9, Youth Workforce Preparation Program
(WPP).
The WPP focuses on career development through a developmental program designed to provide on the job work experience and a training plan that include a website for the participants to maximize the career exploration experience. The website offers an interest survey where participants may learn about different careers that match their current interests and talents. Participants will also have an opportunity to identify additional training or college requirements for the different careers they may have an interest in exploring.
Overall, the WPP will provide participants with support and guidance in improving their employability skills.
