About this position

The General Motors Sales Account Manager for Signal and Power Solutions will be based in Troy, Michigan reporting to the General Motors Sales Manager. The role is responsible for managing and coordinating all commercial aspects for assigned programs including change management, establishing and strengthening customer relationships, and developing profit enhancement / growth strategies, cash collections, voice of the customer and best Aptiv actions with assigned customers.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Lead cross functional teams in preparing quotations for both new business and engineering changes
  • Ensure quotations meet financial metrics; Actively lead teams ensuring accurate quotes that meet customer timing
  • Lead commercial discussions including negotiations and collections (recognized as Aptiv's customer lead).
    • Ensure Aptiv is compensated for all customer driven costs, financial recoveries and/or economic impacts.
    • Actively manage receivables to minimize past dues
    • Ensure all customer rebill documentation is prepared, submitted and collected on time
  • Ensure customer demands are managed through the appropriate internal processes such that all responses are made timely, within and consistent with our commercial policy.
  • Actively manage and drive cost reduction initiatives for assigned programs

Basic qualifications

  • Relevant University Bachelor's degree
  • Skill in negotiations
  • Ability to coordinate and lead cross functional teams
  • 5+ years sales/finance/ engineering experience in automotive supply
  • Comfortable presenting to Aptiv and General Motors leadership aligning business strategy and actions.
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PPT
  • Knowledge of SAP

Nice to haves (preferred qualifications):

  • Prior Experience in automotive wire harness operations and related products.
  • Sales and / or engineering background.
  • Master's degree Advanced
  • Spanish proficiency.
