What you will be doing 

  • Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure 
  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats 
  • Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’ 
  • Run the production environment by monitoring availability, gathering and analyzing metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding 

By taking a holistic view of platform health 

  • Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our software and platforms
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple distributed software applications
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives
  • Maintain monitoring and reporting tools (We are currently moving to Snowflake, but any monitoring tool experience would be good)
  • Support troubleshooting of production issues (Ability to trace through AWS, Linux and Windows logging)
  • Support secure access from external teams (familiarity with PKI would be useful here) 



Technical Requirements for the Role:

  • At least 5+ years of experience as an AWS DevOps;
  • Proficiency with AWS services including but not limited to Lambda, Cognito, SNS, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch;
  • Must be proficient in managing and maintaining deployment pipelines from GitHub to Jenkins, culminating in deployments via AWS Code Deploy and CloudFormation Templates.
  • Required experience in scripting with technologies such as T-SQL, PowerShell, Bash, or Groovy to support deployment and operational tasks.
  • Experience with both Linux and Windows server environments is essential.
  • Experience with relational databases, specifically MySQL and MSSQL, is required.
  • Any additional scripting skills related to the tools mentioned will be highly beneficial.
