Job Description
Are you an accomplished finance professional with a proven track record in steering financial operations to greatness? Look no further! Freshworks is actively seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Senior Director of Finance Operations to become an integral part of our thriving team.
As the Senior Director of Finance Operations, you will hold a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence across various key functions. Reporting directly to the SVP-Finance, you will oversee vital areas including Deals Desk, Order Management, Billing Operations and Support, Accounts Receivable, Sales Commissions, and Partner Programs. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in driving our financial operations to new heights of efficiency and effectiveness.
Day-to-day you'll:

  • Serve as the central hub for all cross-functional projects, overseeing the project management of significant initiatives, spanning from extended projects to smaller tasks within the domains reporting to the SVP. Assume responsibility for projects and processes that necessitate coordination but lack a designated owner within the team. Efficiently prioritize and address issues, ensuring their resolution within established timelines.
  • Oversee the creation of all presentations and communications required for various events, including all-hands meetings, offsite gatherings, and more. Craft compelling storyboards and captivating newsletters to efficiently convey updates on ongoing initiatives and process enhancements
  • Drive alignment on all Finance Operations processes and policies by cultivating strong relationships with sales leaders. Conduct quarterly operational reviews with Sales SVPs/VPs, aiming to reduce friction by assessing feasibility and implementing critical requests. Keep stakeholders informed about progress towards goals, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the process.
  • Contribute to the establishment and oversight of advisory services for the Deals Desk, particularly for large and intricate deals, non-standard arrangements with customers, and partnership agreements. Develop and implement standardized, scalable, and replicable processes organization-wide.
  • Oversee the Training and Development (T&D) initiatives within Finance Operations. The T&D Senior Manager, responsible for spearheading and managing this objective, will have a direct reporting line to this position. In this capacity, this role will assume a leadership role, offering guidance and direction to the T&D Manager in the areas of defining effectiveness and success criteria and overseeing the execution of these strategies.


Please note this is a hybrid role with onsite expectations of 3x/ week from our San Mateo, CA headquarters.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA is strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience with a predominant focus on Finance Operations, Order to Cash, and Deals Desk functions in a large company with global operations required.
  • Experience in presenting to executive management
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills
  • Proficiency in creating visually appealing and impactful presentations
  • Strong project management skills with a successful track record of managing cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Experience in training and development is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.


Additional Information
California Pay Range: The base pay range for this position is $187,500 - $237,000+. You may also be eligible for performance bonus, equity, and additional generous company benefits.
