About the Senior Manager - Strategic Finance

As Senior Manager - Strategic Finance at Trove, you will help scale Trove's finance function. You must have the financial background, and strategic forthrightness to both keep up with the transactional finance needs of a fast-growing company while at the same time working both cross-functionally with the SVP and GM’s of Operations and within the FP&A group. You will report to the Sr Director of FP&A and work collaboratively across the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strategic Finance: Support VP Finance on modeling out forward-looking strategic scenarios for the business. You would be responsible for developing and executing the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning. This involves analyzing financial data, market trends, and business performance to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial outcomes and achieving company objectives.

  • Cross Functional Collaboration/ Building KPIs: You would collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, marketing, and product development. You would act as a financial advisor and partner, providing insights and guidance and building the right KPIs for the business to help drive business growth, optimize resource allocation, and evaluate performance.

  • Commercial Initiatives: Partner with our Sales, Partnerships, Data, and Operations teams to lead the financial modeling and recommendations for new and existing partner profitability initiatives and new commercial structures, and incorporate product-specific and partner-specific unit economics in our planning and pricing

  • Profitability Initiatives: Drive profitability initiatives by providing informed analysis of key operational and financial metrics paired with actionable recommendations to advise senior management on the insights 

  • Revenue and Unit Economics Planning: Own the revenue and margin forecasting process; establish an effective cross-functional dialogue to drive financial visibility and predictability and to enable other departments to translate their goals into measurable targets. 

  • Gross Margin Growth: Through improving visibility, forecasting and analysis of results and key metrics and advising senior management on the insights gained help drive gross margin improvement 

  • Incentive programs: design, model, analyze, and administer business and labor programs as required including the evolution of programs

Experience You Bring:

  • Cross-functional and business partnership skills to build solid relationships while also getting results and driving processes to conclusion 

  • Ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines in ambiguous situations or where not all information is available

  • Comfortable being hands-on with data and accounting while being able to interact & discuss with Senior Leadership as required

  • Understanding of accounting principles – CPA a definite plus

  • Attention to detail

  • Mastery skills at Google Applications incl. Sheets/Excel/Looker, and retrieving data with analytical tools (SQL/Python/R)

  • ERP software (NetSuite) and database experience and a passion for all things finance

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Bonus Points if You Have:

  • Ecommerce experience

  • Operations and 3PL contracts experience

  • Product/SaaS management experience

  • Strategy consulting experience in retail, software or logistics

  • Experience in building forecasting models in analytic software (Python / R)

Trove is committed to creating an equitable and transparent workplace. The annual compensation range for this position is $119,720 -$176,738 plus competitive bonus and equity. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, location and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
