Job Description
The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the company’s payroll activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance with Italian legislation, and process efficiency. This role will handle payroll and salary processing as well as oversee process audits, with the goal of optimizing procedures and ensuring adherence to regulations and internal standards.

As our new Senior Payroll Specialist , you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Complete oversight of payroll operations, including the collection and processing of monthly attendance data and verification of salary and tax/contribution calculations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to processing timelines.
- Supervises compliance with Italian labour legislation, contractual agreements, and contributions, coordinating with the payroll provider to ensure national and local regulatory updates are followed.
- Reviews payroll processes to identify improvement areas, ensuring the adequacy of internal controls and adherence to quality standards.
- Supervise the operation of the Time Attendance platform (Zucchetti) to verify its constant updating and correct dialogue with pay roll
- External Relations Management: Interfaces with social security, tax, and union agencies, ensuring the appropriate handling of mandatory communications and payments managed by the payroll provider and/or relevant internal functions.
- Reporting: Prepares periodic reports for management on payroll activities and audit results, recommending actions to improve process efficiency and reduce non-compliance risks.
You’ll have:
- At least 5 years of experience in payroll, preferably in structured settings, with solid experience as an HR process auditor.
- Excellent knowledge of Italian labor legislation, including contractual, tax, and contribution aspects, preferably including the Journalist National Collective Labor Agreement (CCNL Giornalisti).
- Familiarity with main payroll software, Time attendance software (Zucchetti) and advanced Excel skills.
- Structured approach and problem-solving orientation, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
