Working under general supervision The Strategic Sales Planning Manager will report directly to the Region Vice President, Emerging Brands & Retail Execution of IFG Sales. This role will be the inside voice of new brands' integration and execution within the IFG Sales umbrella and will work with respective brands' leadership teams to drive performance. The ideal candidate will bring an "Ownership Mindset" to work each day and be most comfortable wearing multiple hats. This candidate must be driven to create, innovate, and tell our brands stories both internally and externally. This role will be the voice inside of each assigned Operating Company to the IFG Sales team and their passion will inspire the team. The candidate must be able to work within all levels of structure, varying from low/none to high and be able to create, dismantle, and rebuild where necessary. Initially, this role will work directly with the Shaka Tea brand within the beverage category. Employees in this position may interact with their leader daily to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require their leader's advance approval, but routine decisions within the general scope of the role may be made independently.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide leadership to the IFG Sales organization in implementing sales objectives that appropriately reflect the company's overall goals
- Accountable for the timely assignment of all sales objectives
- Support the IFG Sales team and customers by identifying, analyzing, and communicating meaningful category and/or account specific data, trends, and recommendations (i.e., have a strong pulse on the business as well as with accounts, establish and maintain the sale story, etc.)
- Responsible for identifying opportunities for effective trade promotion spending, leading the development of profitable company and customer growth plans to assist IFG Sales with achieving company revenue and volume targets and goals
- Oversight in sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes; establish high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in planning, forecasting, and budgeting approaches used by the IFG Sales organization while ensuring planning, forecasting, and budgeting efforts are appropriately integrated with other planning processes within the brands and IFG Sales
- Ensure sales reports, data, and other internal business intelligence is provided to the IFG Sales team; partner and coordinate with the IFG Sales Operation team to lead efficient and accurate sales force reporting initiatives
- Partner with IFG Sales to identify opportunities for sales process optimization and share best practices; foster an organization of continuous improvement / continuous process improvement
- Serve as the voice of the customer and represent IFG Sales in Innovation; partner with the cross-functional Innovation team to prioritize as well as push forward customer needs and/or wants
- Manage customer portals and partner with the IFG Sales team to ensure customer administration is accurate and up to date
- Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role.
BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE) - Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or equivalent relevant experience required;
- Significant experience in CPG / Retail and possess a national perspective on the trade
- Proven Sales leadership experience with similar responsibilities above with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibilities
- Significant experience collaborating across multiple functions and/or business units
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE) - Proficient - Knowledge within multiple channels of trade (mass, club, natural, convenience, and mass); able to use syndicated data sources (IRI, Nielson, Spins); able to navigate customer portals and pull customer data (8456, RetailLink, Target POL), Ability to effectively lead teams and multiple projects simultaneously in order to achieve established objectives and/or goals
- Expert - The ability to self-manage and deal with ambiguity - to think and react quickly to changing circumstances, Strong data & analytics capabilities and the ability to generate insights that directly impact strategies and results, High emotional intelligence, empathy, awareness, and what we call the 3 "C's" of thinking (critical thinking, collaborative thinking, and intensely curious thinking),
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
