The Rocket Money Engineering team is comprised of full-stack problem solvers infrastructure builders accessibility advocates quality champions systems thinkers musicians woodworkers writers actors and more.

Our engineering team has met numerous technical challenges from accommodating rapid growth securely ingesting billions of financial transactions to building a best-in-class mobile application that has been the #1 finance app in the App Store. Our work is impactful – in just a few years we’ve helped millions of people to collectively save more than $1 billion.

We’re growing our team and are looking for an Engineering Team Leader who can help us take our platform to the next level leading our Financial Insights team. This team supports core user experiences and systems that help users to understand their finances and adapt their behavior to maximize their financial health.The team works extremely closely with our Product and Design teams to deliver these experiences to our users.

IN THIS ROLE YOU'LL:

• Anchor a team that surfaces meaningful and easy-to-understand financial insights to millions of users.

• Work with Product and Design to optimize user delight and business impact through pragmatic and thoughtful engineering and planning.

• Support engineers in their growth providing feedback and guidance on architecture execution and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

• Own the delivery of your team’s work – your team is responsible to deliver but as a leader ownership of that delivery is yours.

ABOUT YOU 🦄

• You have 5+ years of professional experience working with some combination of Node/TypeScript React GraphQL and Postgres (or similar relational database).

• You have 1+ years of experience leading a team of engineers.

• You're not just interested in what you're building but also why you're building it. You want to see the bigger picture of how the software you're building is benefitting our users.

• You understand observability and enjoy digging into the details to solve performance and user experience issues.

• You're both a student and a teacher continually seeking to grow as an engineer and help those around you grow as well.

• You thrive in a growing organization and are not afraid of a challenging problem. In fact you confront problems head on and take the lead on the solution.

Additional information: Salary range of $150000 - $200000/year + bonus + benefits. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience.
