The Job/What You'll Do:
AssetMark is seeking an Operations Intelligence Manager for the operations and service team. In this hands-on role, this person will be responsible for partnering with various departments and business units to manage data solutions and analytics that will provide robust insights to the operations teams. This includes transforming and combining data from various sources, developing critical metrics and delivering reporting solutions. This individual must be capable of interfacing with all levels of the organization to achieve success.
We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Phoenix, AZ office.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage members of the Operations Intelligence team, overseeing cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Service, IT, and other business units to formulate advanced data solutions in alignment with AssetMark's strategic vision and comprehensive data strategies.
- Manage the day-to-day tactical operations of the operations intelligence team.
- Understands our data sources and how each is being used today and develop and implement long term optimized data strategies.
- Maintains a data dictionary that provides definition of each data element and valid values, data lineage, usage and ownership.
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge production database systems, tools, and applications, leveraging advanced technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric, Python, and other sophisticated platforms.
- Directly leads, motivates, and coaches members of the Operations Intelligence team to optimal performance and provides appropriate and timely performance feedback.
- Champion process improvement, operational efficiency, and automation initiatives, implementing data-driven solutions to address intricate business challenges.
- Manages the data capture and transformation process that converts data into meaningful metrics relevant to the business, combines various data elements and loads them into deliverable dashboards for self-service capabilities.
- Manages the inventory of tools maintained and reports and files generated by Operations Intelligence and ensures clear business and technical documentation.
- Supports data governance through completeness and accuracy checks on database updates, code changes, and all products created by Operations Intelligence.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Depth of experience in facilitating enterprise analytics and reporting.
- Proven track record of leadership and success in engaging diverse business constituents.
- Ability to use data for storytelling to various audiences and to drive organizational change.
- Proven experience with a variety of ETL software and advanced visualization and reporting solutions (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, MicroStrategy, Qlikview, Spotfire, SSIS, Databricks, Apache Spark).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficient in several different Microsoft products and functionalities (e.g., Power Query, Power Pivot, Datasets, DAX, Power Automate, Data Flows, Data Pipelines).
- Proficiency in Python for advanced data analysis, manipulation, and automation.
- Must possess excellent communication (oral and written) and proficient in project management using JIRA or other tool using Agile methodology.
- Hands on style with strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, resourceful, and adept at multitasking.
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, demanding and dynamic work environment.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field. MBA and other certifications are a plus.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in a directly related area, during which professional and management capabilities along with consultative skills have been clearly demonstrated.
- Must have 5+ years of experience manipulating large datasets and the ability to analyze data to develop various technology solutions.
Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $80,000-$90,000.
This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
