Position Overview:
Verra Mobility is seeking a local Senior Automation Engineer to contribute to the development and quality of our future and existing technology products. This position will participate in designing and developing automated solutions for web-based applications and windows services while working and mentoring other testing team-members sharing knowledge and experience to help enhance QA competency. To be successful in this role, you must display robust interpersonal skills, have a high aptitude for technical learning. Be responsible for ensuring that software products meet established quality standards. Possess a unique set of traits, leadership skills, and characteristics that set you apart in this role. Making decisions impacting the overall quality and direction of the testing process.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Requirement Analysis and designing detailed test cases and procedures from requirement specifications.
- Design, develop and implement and review new automated solutions on applications and repeatable testing for existing products.
- Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture and principles, ability to perform manual and automated tests.
- Identify areas for process improvement within the QA team or testing methodologies and propose innovative solutions.
- Define testing strategies and methodologies for complex systems.
- Mentor and guide junior team members.
- Ensure all product releases meet or exceed defined quality goals and meets project timelines.
- Develop with Java and JavaScript or equivalent language with any automation frameworks like Playwright and Cypress.
- Ensure optimal performance of team members.
- Serve as an escalation point in case of testing issues.
- Maintain open, transparent and friendly team atmosphere.
- Work with operations, development, and solution architect teams to create compelling business case including savings implementation and run costs estimate.
- Perform test automation assessments and propose most suitable test automation strategies (including CI/CD).
- Based on industry trends, modern techniques and tools maintain and develop training roadmap and artifacts for wide spectrum of technologies.
- Automate the mechanisms for pulling together the latest releases of ADO and GitHub with usable solution demo data.
- Design, build, and execute Web, API, Backend test scripts by translating manual regression test cases into automated test scripts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of quality assurance experience focused on software and web-based application testing and involved in writing test cases and test plans.
- Ability to work with global teams with different time zone.
- Experience using QA testing tools like ADO, Cucumber, CI/CD tools (Bamboo).
- Hands on experience in Cucumber framework with Java and/or JavaScript.
- Experience with Iterative Development in an Agile Scrum environment.
- Experience of automation using the following Tech stack -JavaScript, AWS, Postgres DB, Azure DevOps, Kafka, API Gateway, Lambda, Hasura, Graph QL.
- Ability to conduct functional testing, regression testing, system-level integration testing, end-to-end testing, and acceptance testing.
- In-depth understanding of software development processes and methodologies including their documentation and creation.
- Knowledge and experience with version control and defect tracking systems.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and task responsibilities simultaneously and switch among them quickly to meet prioritized business needs.
- Gather, use and analyze defect metrics data to present analysis findings to the appropriate levels of management verbally and through the preparation of periodic written reports.
