Team Lead

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Territory Manager and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Bay Area, CA

Shift: 1st shift

What we're looking for

Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree or undergraduate degree in business or science related field is preferred

Experience:

4-5 years of relevant experience in customer service, purchasing, or account management

1-2 years of experience supervising a team

Organized and capable of leadership

Flexible and adaptable to daily changes

Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred

Spill containment , IATA, DOT, IMDG and Hazwoper training a plus

GMP and GLP training a plus

CPR training and OSHA Right to Know preferred

Inside sales experience and cross-referencing skills a plus

Potential to manage Scientific Services

Valid Driver's License and transportation

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Coach and motivates team members to successfully perform job requirements and to meet / exceed goals and objectives.
• Encourage, through mentoring, individual professional growth and team growth.
• Perform administrative duties such as providing performance management input, time card review, vacation scheduling, etc.
• Create and maintains: SOP's, SOW's, SPI's and KPI's.
• Act as a liaison between customer, Avantor services and Avantor sales.
• Overseeing inventory management, shipping, and receiving processes.
• Transporting materials between sites using company van.
• Collaborating with lab operations, facilities, and various carriers (such as UPS, FedEx, etc.).
• Managing material orders, procurement (creating material orders), assessing required orders, and inputting data into the customer computer system.
