Recreation Assistant (Ski/Snowboard Instructor)

Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation/Hillberg Ski Area. This is a Flexible position not to exceed (NTE) May 15th, 2025. Recruitment Incentive of up to $500 may be authorized. Flexible employees have work schedules that depend on the needs of the activity. You may work a minimum of 0 to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Flexible employees may be subjected to "on call" work in addition to hours posted on the schedule. Learn more about this agency Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results. The incumbent must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI), State Criminal History Repository Check (SCHRC), and Installation Records Check (IRC). The incumbent must have or be able to obtain current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/ AED training certification. The incumbent must be at minimum an intermediate skier or snowboarder with instructor certifications and/or pass the Hillberg Ski or Snowboarders Instructor Hiring Clinic, within 30 days of hire. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Qualifications Who May Apply: Open to everyone. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must be at minimum an intermediate skier or snowboarder and have practical knowledge of teaching techniques. Conditions of Employment: Must have or be able to obtain current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/ AED training certification. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI), State Criminal History Repository Check (SCHRC), and Installation Records Check (IRC). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
