Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Client Innovation Center in Costa Rica has an immediate opportunity for an experienced forward thinking Delivery Manager with a passion for growth and innovation. IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC) in Costa Rica has opportunities for a Delivery Manager with a passion for growth and innovation. The Manager should have experience managing clients teams and projects within complex systems and environments. Due to the nature of this role we are looking for candidates with proven communication skills who can leverage technical business skills and functional skills in both a face-to-face and virtual team environment. Applicants will apply their technical and functional skills in both internal and external client service. IBM is looking for candidates who can handle large client bases grow the practice and develop the skills of resources

Growth and Talent Development:The Practice/Delivery manager will be responsible for hyper growing the practice/service area assigned to the candidate. It would require adding 20 to 40 new consultants in the practice portfolio every year. Candidate will be responsible to enhance CIC reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing staff development. This will include recruiting/interviewing initial training for newly hired employees as well as continuing education and skill development for existing consultants. Role requires creative thinking to design and implement innovative ways to develop the staff for client facing responsibilities. This is done by aligning the talent development with company goals which builds the Monroe CIC brand within IBM. Develop and communicate the company’s and CIC policies and procedures to the staff.
As part of a Latin America Region this role will work together and aligned to other CIC Leads implementing similar strategies and working towards same goals and metrics. This leader will participate in weekly and monthly meetings to share center results related to growth utilization and revenue targets.
People Management: Human Resource management and Human Resource processes are extremely important in this role a deep exposure in managing human resources is a must. This role would require performing as a second line manager in many cases and the candidate will be responsible for managing a team or teams of up to 20 to 40 direct reports primarily grouped in clusters of similar skills. Candidate will be responsible to manage career compensation progression and awards within the practice/service area.
Program Management: Candidates will be managing and overseeing the business and its technical areas to achieve on-time/on-spec project completions. Hands-on experience in problem-solving or analysis of technical issues highly preferred. Candidate will be responsible for proposal review and approval recruiting to fill project positions for signed work from internal IBM and external sources and working with accounts to grow CIC roles on the projects. Candidate will perform regular account reviews and health checks with our clients and may have to attend public events as well as account visits with the goal of bringing business into Monroe.
Client Satisfaction:Candidate will be responsible for building client satisfaction through formulation development implementation and delivery of application services and responding to client requirements as specified in the contract or Statement of Work (SOW) (may include managing contractual cost schedule and service or product deliverables as they relate to the delivery organization). Candidate will be responsible for individual and team’s productivity and ensuring project teams in the practice are meeting deliverables schedule and budget goals. In addition the Delivery Manager will be responsible for the program status reporting communicating on a regular basis with client management issues and mitigation and personnel matters affecting work delivery.

The IBM Client Innovation Center is an in-bound delivery model where we support our clients from our Monroe center. However some travel is expected and all candidates must be willing and able to travel to meet our client needs across the US. Travel is typically related to knowledge transfer and training at the client site (Monday thru Friday). You are expected to travel up to 50% of the time. No remote opportunities exist.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• At least 6 years of experience in leadership skills with proven track record in delivering on-time on-budget results
• At least 3 years of experience in Program Management or Project Management in Application Development projects (ideally in Java Web Development Full Stack Development Microservices Mobile Development Cloud or Salesforce.com)
• At least 3 years of experience in managing and leading application development projects handling multiple projects at a time.
• Experience with client/account management (internal or external)


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Proven ability to significantly grow an area (i.e. number of resources number of practices revenue etc.)
• At least 10 years of experience in leadership skills with proven track record in delivering on-time on-budget results.
• At least 5 years of experience in Program or Project Management in Application Development projects ideally in Cloud Java Web Development Full Stack Development Microservices Mobile Development or Salesforce.com
• At least 4 years of experience in managing and leading application development projects handling multiple projects at a time.
• Experience with Recruiting and Interviewing
• Experience with client/account management
