Role Overview


PDI is seeking a Renewal Specialist, which is a key resource in the Renewals process and is responsible for initiating customer outreach and processing the renewals associated with the recurring business of PDI. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have strong organizational and communication skills and be able to read contracts and understand how to identify business implications for both the customer and PDI. The primary objectives are to renew and forecast the assigned book of business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous review of contracts and addendums to ensure systems correctly reflect contractual terms
  • Perform ongoing, detailed analysis of customer renewal data, ensuring the accuracy of all relevant data points
  • Execute all phases of the retention/renewal lifecycle including communication, objection handling, negotiation and obtaining customer signatures for a pool of customers
  • Communicate with customers primarily to ensure smooth, timely renewal transactions
  • Update Salesforce with notes for each renewal customer as necessary, as well as with additional data points as new programs and processes are launched
  • Follow-up with sales partners, customer success, legal, and finance to ensure consistent communications and ensure next steps are taken regarding renewals
  • Persistent follow-up regarding renewals
  • Identify at-risk renewal clients early in the cycle and define issues inhibiting a successful, timely renewal
  • Drive on-time or early renewals
  • Interact on a regular basis with assigned customers to answer questions, address concerns, and understand their unique business challenges
  • Drive product usage and customer retention, with a focus on early identification of risks (project and renewal) and improvement of overall account health
  • Track projects and metrics
  • Resolve customer and internal escalations in a timely manner
  • Build a trusted advisor relationship with assigned customers
  • Maintain an updated knowledge of company software and services

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in a professional environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven history of proactive, energetic, patient and customer-centric behavior
  • Interactive skills with the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and escalate customer issues as required
  • Detail-oriented and ability to follow through on tasks
  • Proven analysis, problem-solving and troubleshooting expertise
  • Ability to take initiative, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to meet new challenges with optimism and an open mind
  • Proficiency in standardized software applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint 
  • Experienced in Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions and complex formulas)
  • Familiarity with Salesforce as a sales and knowledge platform
  • Experience with a wide array of software and solution offerings
  • Accustomed to and interested in working in a fast-paced environment
