Entegris is seeking a Product Engineer to join a dynamic team responsible for particle analyzer and concentration monitor products in Chandler, AZ as part of the Scientific Instrument Business Unit within Entegris Advanced Material Handling division. This segment develops technologies that support design and development of the most advanced semiconductor applications in the world.  

 

This role will be responsible for supporting the development and technical advancement of Particle Monitoring and Concentration Monitoring equipment product designs from conception through commercialization.  

 

The Product Engineer will design, develop, test, and supervise the manufacture of assemblies, components, products, test apparatus and will oversee the manufacture of these devices, systems, and equipment. This role is critical in terms of managing external mechanical/electrical partners and supporting software engineering projects as related to integration with product design and function. The Product Engineer should be familiar with stage-gate technology development as well as design, documentation, and layout product formats to satisfy either requirements for new product introduction or initiatives of existing products.  

 

What You'll Do:  

  • Utilize industry knowledge and perform research to integrate concepts into development of new products and technology; serve as an electrical subject matter expert for designing, maintaining, implementing, and improving products, instruments, components, or systems for industrial or commercial purposes 

  • Lead or co-lead projects related to technology development and new product introduction; including but not limited to leading design reviews, prototyping efforts, documentation, manufacturing documentation, compliance (including but not limited to RoHS, EMC, CE, safety) and/or testing activities 

  • Conceptualize, design and develop new, derivative and existing product offerings to ensure performance and advancement of technology 

  • Build and test of prototype systems through development and execution of test, qualification and validation plans 

  • Lead the transition of product design validation and hand-off to manufacturing 

  • Provide documentation support such as creating/maintaining drawings, SOPs, test procedures, test data 

  • Identify deficiencies in process(es) and develop improvements 

  • Assist in performing root cause analysis on quality issues on new and existing products 

  • Write technical reports and compiling data as evidence to support qualification of product or change to product, ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements 

  • Characterize and test products to ensure specified requirements are met 

  • Confer with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects 

  • Collaborate with Product, Project, Engineering Management for proper allocation and tracking of resources, schedules; estimate material, labor, or construction costs for budget preparation 

  • Exhibit sounds judgement and decision making based on schedule and cost impact 

  • Mentor junior engineers, interns, and co-op roles 

 What We Seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering degree from an accredited school, advanced degree preferred 
  • At least 7+ years of applicable experience in field with progressing responsibilities 

  • Experience in using or a desire to learn required software 

  • Experience with Altium, Github and similar engineering tools and processes 

  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management software tools, SAP or other ERP systems 

  • Advanced ability to learn new systems and implement the latest technology 

  • Experience with optics-based systems is a plus 

  • Expertise in electrical documentation (wiring schematics, code, etc.) 

  • Aptitude for system troubleshooting (recognize design issues vs functional or assembly issues) - recommend design changes for overall system improvements 

  • Advanced in reviewing and interpreting mechanical and electrical system layouts 

  • Ability to quickly prove concepts as fast as possible and prototype 

  • Proven ability to innovate and create uncommon solutions for technical challenges 

  • Being a great teammate, learning from the depth of experience teammates provide and a desire to share ideas and experiences 

  • Motivated and self-directed team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence personnel at all levels within the organization 

  • Licensed as a professional engineer is a plus
