Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Capital Projects PM to be located in Phoenix, AZ with hybrid/remote work options available.

Provide project management services as an extension of staff to established client.

  • For staff extension services, the project management (PM) is expected to preform project duties in accordance with the client procedures and practices and report to client management and respective site management as deemed necessary by respective client projects assigned to the PM.
  • The PM will report directly to the Client Supervising Manager for Oil and Gas Projects.
Responsibilities include:

  • Detailed review of Project Budgets/Schedule and Scope within Client Proprietary System
  • Detail Engineering Design
  • Schedule meetings with the appropriate APS personal to successfully have the Engineering team present the design for proper approval. Review of the engineering package for any long lead items and procurement activities that can be driven to allow the proper time frame for equipment to be on-site.
  • Detailed Drawing Preparation
  • Will coordinate the ESP to keep to the schedule to allow for detailed presentation to the proper site personal.
  • Procurement and Expediting
  • Utilize the Procurement manager throughout the project to locate the proper equipment and materials to assist in making the project successful. Communicate with the Client Procurement team of all activities. The ESP is to provide Specifications and review of the procurement items prior to the final approval from the Project Manager for these items.
  • Construction Contractor
  • Coordination with the Construction Management team on-site to allow for schedule activities as well as holding the contractor responsible to their costs and scope of the Engineering work that was coordinated properly.
  • Construction Management Support
  • Coordinate and task the Construction Management team for the proper support of the project.
  • Commissioning Management Support
  • Coordinate with the Client for the proper commissioning the completion of the project.
  • Training of Operating and Maintenance Personnel
  • Hold a final close out of the project to allow for the proper information turnover to the operation team as well as the Maintenance Personnel for sign off and acceptance.
  • Project Closeout
  • Complete Closeout per the Client standards with the proper support from the team that is utilized above as well as Client Project Controls.
  • Work Location:
  • Primary work location will be remote but based out of the AECOM Phoenix, AZ office for the Project Manager and support.
  • Secondary work location, may be performed as needed at the Client Headquarters located Downtown Office in Phoenix, AZ as well as the designated project site as seen fit by the needs of the individual project.
  • Travel & Expenses:
  • Project Manager will plan trips to and from Client Site as necessary per the project with appropriate trips to the site to assure the duties of the Project Manager are successful.
Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of related industry experience heavy civil infrastructure.
  • PE preferred, or PMP with construction management background
  • Experience managing client portfolios with multiple projects
  • Experience managing design staff and subcontractors
  • Heavy civil construction design experience.

  • Relocation is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship may be available for this role (current US employment visa holders)
  • Regular on-site travel required.
